HOW DOES OPTE WORK?
OPTE scans, detects, and corrects hyperpigmentation for an even and radiant complexion! A high-speed camera uses safe blue light to scan skin for hyperpigmentation, our patented algorithm analyzes skin to detect areas of uneven tone in real time, and then Optimizing Serum is precisely applied only to these areas to instantly correct dark spots using 97% less product than foundation while 5% niacinamide prevents and fades them over time.

WHAT IS THE BLUE LIGHT? IS IT SAFE?
Yes, the blue light is safe! It has been tested for skin and eye compatibility by an accredited certification laboratory. The blue light illuminates your skin (like a flashlight) so the wand can scan, detect, and correct dark spots. It's not a laser or an LED therapy device.

IS OPTE AN AIRBRUSH?
OPTE is not an airbrush. While airbrushing typically applies product to your entire face, OPTE's Precision Skincare technology uses 97% less product because it targets only your hyperpigmentation.

IS OPTE PAINFUL TO USE? WHAT DOES THE SERUM FEEL LIKE?
OPTE is completely pain-free! You will feel the rollers gently gliding over your skin, and you may feel a very faint cool feeling as the serum is deposited onto your skin, but you may feel nothing at all.
If you feel any pain or discomfort, you are likely using too much pressure to apply OPTE. Remember to apply using the 4 S application technique (Soft, Slow, Straight, and Sweep)!

CAN I TAKE THE WAND ON THE GO?
We don’t recommend taking OPTE on the go without its cradle. In addition to charging your wand, the cradle cleans and conditions your wand before and after each use and keeps your serum healthy (Serum may become unusable if the wand is left outside the cradle too long). If you need to take OPTE with you, be sure to keep the wand and cradle together. OPTE will not work unless the Cradle is plugged in.

CAN I TRAVEL WITH OPTE?
Yes, but you should plug it in as soon as you arrive at your destination. If traveling on a plane, we suggest packing OPTE in your carry-on rather than a checked bag to keep your device safe!

IS OPTE CLEAN?
Yes, OPTE is clean! Our products are never formulated with ingredients like sulfates, parabens, dyes, artificial colors, formaldehyde, or phthalates.

IS OPTE CRUELTY FREE?
OPTE is a cruelty-free brand. We do not test on animals during product development or production.

WILL OPTE WORK ON ME?
OPTE is proven to work best on hyperpigmentation spots that are dime-sized or smaller. OPTE will not work on spots that are too large (bigger than a dime), spots that are much darker than your overall skin tone (dark moles, blackheads, etc.), or spots that are raised/textured.

WILL MY SPOTS GO AWAY?
Though hyperpigmentation naturally regenerates, OPTE contains 5% niacinamide, an active ingredient that is clinically proven at that potency to visibly fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation with consistent daily use!

DOES OPTE WORK ON MEN?
Yes, OPTE is for all genders and is also for far more than just your face! You can use OPTE anywhere you want to camouflage hyperpigmentation, including, but not limited to, your arms, neck, hands, and chest. Please note that OPTE works best on clean shaven skin and can be washed off with soap and water.

APPLICATION/ROUTINE

HOW SHOULD I APPLY OPTE?
Apply OPTE using the 4 S application technique demonstrated in the Quick Start Guide and the tutorial found HERE.
SOFT: The lighter you press, the better OPTE works. Use a feather-light amount of pressure while using the Wand to apply Serum. You should not see any indentation on your skin.
SLOW: Each stroke of the Wand should take about 3 to 5 seconds.
STRAIGHT: Don't tilt the wand. Keep both of the rollers flat on your face during use.
SWEEP: Keep the Wand on your skin and work in long, broad strokes. Avoid lifting it off your skin during passes.
You’ll know OPTE is working when you hear it clicking! Remember that the Serum is buildable, and you should take multiple passes. We recommend using the Wand on one half of your face, moving to the other half, then returning to the first half to repeat the process until you are happy with your coverage.
OPTE has a learning curve, but after 5 to 10 uses, most people find they can achieve their ideal end look in 5 minutes or less. Everyone’s skin is unique, so the time it takes to use OPTE will vary.

HOW MUCH PRESSURE DO I USE TO APPLY?
Use the lightest pressure possible while still keeping both rollers in contact with your face. The wand should feel like a feather lightly touching your skin, and you should not see any indentations or feel any pain. The lighter you press, the better OPTE works.

DO I NEED TO KEEP GOING OVER AN AREA UNTIL THE CLICKING STOPS?
The wand clicks to let you know when it has detected hyperpigmentation. As you use OPTE, the clicks will slow down, but OPTE’s camera is so sensitive you’ll likely never hear the clicks completely stop. As soon as you’ve achieved your ideal end look, you can stop using the wand.

WHAT MAKEUP CAN I WEAR WITH OPTE?
We don't recommend using any liquid or cream foundation before or after using OPTE. Using liquid makeup before OPTE will make it difficult for the device to detect your dark spots Using liquid makeup after OPTE will remove the serum and undo the instant camouflage.
If you want to apply any makeup after OPTE, we suggest sticking with powder products!

CAN I APPLY MOISTURIZER OR OTHER SKIN CARE TO MY FACE WHEN USING THE WAND?
Yes! OPTE works best when applied as the last step in your skincare routine after your moisturizer and SPF. Allow a few minutes for your moisturizer/SPF to sink in before using your OPTE.

CAN I USE A PRIMER PRIOR TO USING OPTE?
Yes, you can apply primer before OPTE. If you experience any smearing of the serum, try giving your primer a few extra minutes to sink in before you use OPTE.

HOW DO I REMOVE THE SERUM?
OPTE’s Optimizing Serum will wash off with your favorite preferred cleanser.

HOW LONG LASTING IS OPTE'S COVERAGE?
OPTE’s instant camouflage coverage lasts about 8 to 10 hours. Applying translucent powder after can help increase that time!

HOW DO I KNOW THE SERUM IS COMING OUT?
To check that the serum is depositing properly, hold OPTE stationary on your skin for 5 seconds. You should see a solid line of serum that is as long as the opening of the tip.

CAN I USE OPTE AT NIGHT?
Most people incorporate OPTE into their daily morning routine, but you can use OPTE at night as well for the spot-fading, spot-preventing benefits of 5% niacinamide and our Precision Skincare technology.

DOES OPTE INSTANTLY COVER ALL MY SPOTS?
OPTE’s serum is buildable, which allows you to control the level of coverage you want. OPTE easily covers small, lighter-colored spots with a few passes. Camouflaging larger, more pigmented spots may take multiple passes.

CAN I USE OPTE UNDER MY EYES AND AROUND MY NOSE?
Yes, you can use OPTE under your eyes and on your nose. It is not meant to treat under-eye circles.

HOW DO I USE THE WAND ON MY NOSE?
Try to keep both rollers flat on your nose and in contact with your skin. Some OPTE users have found it helpful to use their spare hand to gently pull their nose to one side to flatten it while applying the serum.

CAN I USE THE WAND ON MY NECK?
OPTE is for far more than just your face! You can use OPTE anywhere you want to camouflage and fade hyperpigmentation. Just note that OPTE will wash off with soap and water.

CAN I GET A FACIAL OR SKIN TREATMENT WHILE USING OPTE?
Yes, OPTE is safe to use in combination with other facials or skin treatments. Consult your dermatologist for the most personalized guidance that’s best for your unique skin.

HOW CAN I MAKE THE SERUM LAST LONGER?
We suggest applying moisturizer and SPF before using OPTE, as well as a setting powder on top of OPTE to maximize its staying power throughout the day. You can also reapply as needed without removing any existing product from your face.

THE WAND IS LEAVING "STREAKS" OF SERUM ON MY SKIN.
If you’re seeing streaks of serum, you might be using too much pressure or you might need to clean the wand tip. You can clean the tip by removing it from the wand and rinsing with soap and water. Make sure that the tip is dry before reattaching it to the wand or returning it to the cradle.

HOW DO I SET UP MY NEW SYSTEM?

HOW DO I CLEAN THE DEVICE AND WAND TIP?
The only part of the device that needs cleaning is the removable tip of the OPTE Wand. Remove the tip from the Wand and gently clean the tip with soap and water. Dry the tip completely with a dry cloth before re-applying to the Wand or inserting into the OPTE Cradle. Do not use a cotton swab or cotton pad to clean the tip, as lint or fuzz might get stuck in the rollers. Do not submerge any part of your OPTE Wand in water as it will negatively impact the function of the device. We recommend cleaning the rollers after each use, or at least once a week.

HOW LONG DO THE SERUM REFILL AND CONDITIONING DISK LAST?
Each serum refill and conditioning disk lasts for 60 uses. Your wand will display an empty teardrop when the serum is empty. Make sure to change your refill and conditioning disk at the same time.
When you use the device 3 times (for greater than 30 seconds each time) the serum status on your device will drop in an increment of 5%.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE SERUM REFILL AND CONDITIONING DISK?
You can refer to the Instruction Guide included with your Refill Kit, use the guidelines below, or watch our video tutorial here:
Remember to replace BOTH the serum and the disk at the same time.
To replace the serum:
Remove the wand from the cradle. Slide the wand's back cover down. Remove the empty serum cartridge. Insert the new cartridge. Close the back cover.
To replace the conditioning disk:
Lift the old disk up to remove from the cradle. Insert the new disk. You may need to use a mild amount of pressure when inserting the disk.
After replacing both the serum refill and conditioning disk, insert the wand back into the cradle and close the lid.

WHAT DOES THE HOUSE/HOME ICON MEAN?
This icon means that your wand has been out of the cradle for too long. Return OPTE to the cradle and close the lid. You can begin using OPTE again as soon as the sounds stop and the display screen says "Ready."

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN I NEED A NEW SERUM REFILL?
When it’s time to change your serum and conditioning disk, you'll see the image of a droplet with a slash through it in your wand’s LED screen. Remember to replace the Serum and Conditioning Disk at the same time.

MY SERUM DROP ON THE LED DISPLAY SCREEN OF THE WAND HAS A LINE THROUGH IT. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
This icon means it is time to replace your serum refill and conditioning disk.

MY SERUM INDICATES 25%. HOW MANY USES ARE LEFT?
At 25%, you have about 15 uses left. When you use the device 3 times (for longer than 30 seconds) the serum status will drop in an increment of 5%.

DOES THE DEVICE NEED TO BE PLUGGED IN AT ALL TIMES?
We suggest keeping your cradle plugged in at all times to ensure the optimal performance of your wand, Optimizing Serum, and Smart Conditioning Disk. The Smart Conditioning Disk performs a self-maintenance and cleaning function every time you place your wand back in. This guarantees a perfect application every time you use your OPTE!
If consistently left unplugged, OPTE’s battery may run out after about a week. If this happens, you’ll need to let OPTE charge for several hours before you can use the device again. If you need to unplug OPTE, wait until any cleaning noises have stopped.

I CANNOT GET MY CONDITIONING DISK OUT OF THE CRADLE.
Your device must be plugged in to remove the conditioning disk. If your device isn’t currently plugged in, please plug it in and then insert your finger in the notch located at the top right corner of the conditioning disk to remove it from the Cradle.

WHY IS MY WAND BEEPING AND/OR VIBRATING?
Your wand will beep or vibrate if it's been out of the cradle for too long without being used. Put your wand back in the cradle, close the lid, and wait for any noises to stop. Once the noises have stopped, your wand will be ready for use again.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY ORDER?
We have a very small window in which we can attempt to change or update an order. If there are any issues with your recent order, please contact us immediately at support@opte.com. We cannot guarantee any changes.

WHEN WILL MY CARD BE CHARGED?
When you check out, the order amount is authorized and held by your bank. If you are using a debit card, the bank may hold your funds until we request that your card be charged. Typically, authorization holds expire according to the terms of your bank or financial institution.
If you have a Refill Kit subscription and need to update your payment information you can do so under your account profile under “Billing”.

HOW DOES THE SUBSCRIPTION WORK?
Our current OPTE Unlimited Subscription is $30 a month. Members receive Serum & Care Refill Kits every 90 days by default, with complimentary accessory replenishments any time you need them, always with free shipping. Includes membership-exclusive luxury gifts from our skincare line and more. OPTE Unlimited members can cancel the membership any time after 90 days, and before your next Refill Kit is scheduled to ship, and membership charges are complete. Members can also contact OPTE concierge to get their Refill Kit shipped sooner than the default schedule, every 60 days.
Our Previous Serum & Care Kit Refill Subscription is for Serum & Care Refill Kits, which include an Optimizing serum and 1 Conditioning Disk. Refills are shipped on a frequency of every 2 months, 3 months, or 4 months depending your selection. A payment of $120, at time of shipment. This membership does not include the Precision System device (must purchase separately). Cancel anytime.
Our Precision System Membership is a recurring monthly payment for the initial Precision System over a 12 or 24 month period. The membership also includes Serum & Care Kit refills shipped every 90 days through the duration of the membership. *Please note at this time we are no longer accepting new Precision System memberships.

How do I move up a refill shipment?
OPTE Unlimited members can contact OPTE concierge using your MyOPTE account portal or contact us using the Customer Care form to move up a shipment. Refill Kit shipments by default ship every 90 days, but members can request that their Refill Kit ships sooner by asking to “ship now” every 60 days.

How do I cancel my membership?
OPTE Unlimited members can cancel the membership any time after 90 days. Simply contact the OPTE concierge via your MyOPTE account portal or contact us using the Customer Care form. Make sure to contact us before your next Refill Kit is scheduled to ship after the 90 day mark.

How long does the serum last?
Depending on how often you use OPTE, your serum refill will last between 2 to 3 months. If you use OPTE every single day, your serum will last closer to 2 months. How can I get my free accessory replacements?
OPTE Unlimited members can request their complimentary accessory replenishments (Applicator Tip or Power Supply) using your MyOPTE account portal or contact us using the Customer Care form to request an accessory replacement.

What happened to the in-app OPTE rewards program?
Due to supply issues, we're sad to say we ended the OPTE rewards program as of February 24th, 2022. If you had the app at the time, we sent an email around then with more details. Thank you for being a loyal customer.

WHERE IS MY ORDER?
You should receive an order confirmation email within a few minutes of placing your order. If you don’t, please double check your junk/spam folders.
Shipping confirmation emails with tracking information are sent once your order has been labeled and shipped out from our warehouse. Please allow the carrier 24 to 48 hours to update your tracking.
Please note one or more of your items might ship separately. We will email you a confirmation once your order ships and that will include tracking information as well. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will be processed on the following business day.

We currently ship to the continental U.S., Hawaii, and Alaska. We do not ship internationally or to the U.S. territories, but we hope to expand someday- stay tuned!

We have a 60-day money back guarantee on our Precision Skincare System! If, for any reason, you don’t love OPTE, you can return it within 60 days of delivery for a full refund. Email us support@opte.com to start the return process. We’d also love to hear your feedback!
Accessories are returnable if they are unopened, and still in the original packaging.
We do not accept returns for the Brightening Concentrate, Optimizing Peptide Moisturizer, Serum & Care Kit refills or Serum Membership replenishments.
Please note, if you are requesting a return after the 60-day window you may be subject to a restocking fee as listed in the TERMS OF SERVICE. Additionally, after 90 days from date of purchase we will not be able to accept returns or offer refunds on any of our products.

WHEN CAN I EXPECT A REFUND?
When we receive the device at our warehouse, we will inspect the shipment to ensure all parts have been returned and the device undamaged. Once the device has been inspected (typically within 2-5 business days) we will process your refund and reimburse the payment method you used to purchase. It typically takes 5-10 business days for the refund to be reflected on your bank statement.
We will send you an email when we have received your returned item(s) and another email to confirm when your refund has been processed. If you have not received either email within 2 weeks of returning your item, please contact us here.

How long does the replacement, return, or exchange process take?
Exchanges & Replacements: Once we ship your new item, you will receive it within 3-7 business days. We will expect your original item scanned into the courier within 10 days of receiving the return label.
Returns: We will expect your original item scanned into the courier within 10 days of receiving the return label. Once we receive your returned item, we will issue a refund to your original form of payment within 14 days. Depending on your bank, it can take up to 3 business days for the funds to appear in your account.
Due to COVID-19, we may experience some delays in the replacement, return, and exchange process. We'll make sure to keep you up-to-date on the status of your replacements and returns.
